Week 14

Doing this big project really helped me a lot with my critical thinking. Before this project I would have given myself a 2 or 3 in critical thinking because I was really struggling with it. Now I would give myself a 5 because I have worked very hard at thinking critically and now I have a deeper understanding of it. The research paper helped me a lot with critical thinking because I was able to match up events with each other. For example I realized that crop failures and military service caused farmers to move to America. They did not just do it on their own. With doing all that research for the research paper I was able to understand it and interpret my information instead of just felling like I was giving a summary of what happened.
Doing all this research helped me with my thesis statement. When you don’t do a lot of research its hard to create a thesis, but with all the research that we did for this project I got a sense of how life was for farmers and the thesis statement came naturally to me. Before this project I did not think anything of industrialism. I knew that it gave us technology but other than that I didn’t care. From this project I learned so much more. I realized the huge effect that industrialism had on farmers and workers. I will take that with me and now when someone talks about industrialism I won’t just go yeah whatever, ill now go wow was a big event. I can also teach other people who have no clue about industrialism what I learned.

This project has helped me take more of a facilitating role. Before this project I used to be shy about telling people to do things when they weren’t working. From this project I learned that making people do work when their not really doing anything helps your group out a lot. Our group got a lot more done when I asked people to work when they were just sitting there.
For the future I will bring more stuff to the group and continue to ask people to do work when there not. I am happy because I did a lot more work for this project than I did for others. I helped with the power point and a lot of other steps for the project. Like I talked about earlier there were a lot of people in our group that were playing around and not doing work. They were also taking when they were suppose to be working. I handled this by putting them to work when they were just sitting there. If that did not work I talked to Josh or who’s other class I was in.

I have always been good at managing projects effectively. I am always turning in my homework on time. So handling all these steps was not hard for me. There’s was points like when I was working on my map that I was afraid I would not get my map in on time but, I was able to turn my map in on time. I did turn in my research paper one day late, but other than that I got all my other steps done on time.
I never really fell behind but as a group we fell behind because we did not get out profile map signed off right away. We then just started working really hard and we were able to catch up with everyone else. Through this project I noticed no matter how bored with this project I got I just kept working and getting the steps done. For the future I will continue to facilitate my group more and try to help out a little bit more. I still did a lot of work, but I would like to try to do more for the future.

Week13

In the beginning I thought this project was really cool and fun, but overtime it just kept dragging on and on and I got bored of it and just wanted to get it over with. I still through out the whole project did my work and had a positive attitude, but it was not as interesting. Our group did very well. We got our power point and documentary film done. I am prepared to present, but I am nervous. I will be happy to get it over with and be done with the project. Everyone else in the group seems prepared. Mostly everyone has their script memorized. Rehearsals for our group have gone very well. There wasn’t very much for us to change when we rehearsed, except for some pictures and language. There’s not really anything else I need to work on just prepare for presentation.

Week 12

We have been working very well. Everyone has been doing there work and not talking.
We have completed our power point. We have all the images for our documentary. So now we are working on our voice recording and on getting our documentary script signed off. We were very successful; everyone did there work and did not fool around. When we did do the voice recording some people were be disrespectful while other group members were recording but other than that everything was good. I learned some more things about other people’s social classes that were in my country. For example how they reacted to things and how there life was.

Week #11

We have been working really well. We have all gotten a lot better at managing projects effectively. We have all finished our scripts and have put them all together. We are now working on finishing our documentary film and finishing our power point. We were very successful because we did our work and didn’t do any off task chatting. I’ve learned that every ones social class changed dramatically over the years. Farmers moved away, but ruling classes became more popular.

Week 10

We made a lot of progress last week. Pretty much everyone has finished both of his or her script. We have finished our political poster and the artist’s statement. We are now working on combining our scripts, working on our power point and getting images for our documentary film. We have been very successful at working on our work. Most of the off task chatting has ended. People have been staying more on task. I have learned that if you divide up the work and take a facilitating role you can get people to do more work.

Week 9

I have been doing very well with my research paper. I have finished my first draft and turned it in already. Over the weekend I would like to read it over again myself and make some corrections. I would also like my mom to read it over to see what she thinks I should improve on. Then I would like to get caught up with other homework I need to do. I have been having a little trouble with the organizing of my paper, but other than that I’ve been doing fine.

Week 8

We have been continuing to collaborate productively. We share ideas with each other and help each other out. People have been paying more attention which is good. Expressing ourselves creatively is improving we are thinking of creative ways to do benchmarks. Managing projects effectively still needs some work because some group members are procrastinating and not getting there work in. In this past week we worked on guiding questions , political art and story boards. We have finished one of our story boards, but there is still one more to go. Most of us are still working on the guiding questions and the rough draft of political art. Yes we were successful, because everyone pulled their weight. If they did not get done with the guiding questions or political art they at least got half of the way there. I learned that if you take priority and go to your members and talk to them then they’ll get work done.

Week 7

We have been working very well we have been sharing information and working really hard. We are doing very well at collaborating productively and expressing our ideas creatively. We need to work on managing projects effectively because there are a couple members in our group who are very far behind. Pretty much everyone has finished their note cards and is working on or has completed their outline. We are now all working on our political art pieces, our storyboards and on answering our guiding questions. We were somewhat successful. Because we only finished one of our storyboards and everyone is still working on their guiding questions. I have learned that the German farmers life’s changed a lot in this time period from emigrating to the united states or from textile factories being made.
I have 2 questions going forward.
The first one is what is anti-semitism?
The second one is what was the unification of the German empire?
